We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Accountant to contribute to the effective management of our financial
operations. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with accounting
standards and maintaining the accuracy of our financial records. Reporting
directly to the EVP of Finance and Accounting, the Accountant will play a
pivotal role in supporting the organization’s financial health and operational
success.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and record financial transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Reconcile accounts, including monthly balance sheet accounts, to ensure accuracy and prepare financial statements in a timely manner.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to guide strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including: - Processing vendor payments and matching purchase orders to invoices. - Preparing and distributing customer invoices, ensuring timely collections. - Processing deposits, recording cash receipts, and maintaining updated records.
- Administer and reconcile monthly sales tax filings and payments, as well as vendor tax forms.
- Monitor and analyze travel expenses, ensuring accurate processing of billable items.
- Maintain a streamlined and organized accounting system, filing documents and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist with external audits by assembling required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Provide ad-hoc financial reporting, analysis, and administrative support to management as needed.
Must Have
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent business experience.
- Proven experience in data entry, record keeping, and general accounting operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to maintain well-structured and accessible records and files.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
